Trunk Driver Durham to Derby

A degree of manual handling including unloading by hand is required

Main duties and responsibilities

To assist the team de-kitting trunk trailers and vehicles, x-docking and marshalling of goods, and to assist with the loading of vehicles before commencing daily driving duties. Must be a team player, be able use own initiative.

1 Assist in the loading of vehicles and securing loads prior to transportation.

2 Completion of daily defect reporting of vehicles.

3 Assist the team de-kitting trailers and vehicles.

4 Making Multi-drops, if required.

5 Communicating with customers in a professional, personable manner ensuring a high quality service is delivered at all times.

6 Complete delivery notes.

7 Vehicle checks to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with VOSA.

8 Compliance with Health and Safety (SSOW) and other related legislation.

9 To participate in the business’s annual Appraisal policy.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance.

Criteria: Qualifications and Training


Class C & E Licence
In date CPC
Digital Tachograph holder*

Criteria: Knowledge and Experience


2 years’ commercial use experience of Class 1 Licence
Less than 6 penalty points on Class 1 Licence
Experience of working in a team
