Inventory Controller – Carlisle

Job purpose

Responsible for the inventory control of 300,000 tyres (Customer Owned Goods) to the value of £20m.

To maintain stock integrity, ensuring accurate stock control minimising ATL contractual stock liabilities. Producing accurate KPI information. Warehouse layout optimisation ensuring productivity is maximised.

Organise inventory checks and wall to wall stocktakes, making recommendations to standard working practices to enhance accuracy and operational performance.

Monday – Friday (45 Hours)

Timings Monday – Friday 8.00am – 17:30pm

Owing to location of workplace access to a vehicle will be required.

Main duties and responsibilities

HR Responsibilities

2 Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

Operational Responsibilities

3 Ensure accurate control of inventory up to and beyond the KPI levels expected by the customer and ATL.

4 Plan and manage all stock counts and audits of inventory.

5 Develop & maintain effective inventory process to ISO9001 level, incorporating warehouse management systems.

6 Produce accurate stock Key Performance Indicator reports, analyse and recommend changes to Standard Operating Procedures to enhance accuracy and operational effectiveness.

7 Put in place procedures to monitor and minimise stock losses and investigate all shortages and discrepancies.

8 Publish detailed reports on location accuracy, stock gains and losses and financial impact on a daily and weekly basis.

9 Implement procedures to maintain cycle counting and perpetual inventory.

10 Produce timely and accurate management information & reports as required

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance.

Criteria: Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Educated to High School (secondary) standard

Desirable

  • Certificate/diploma in Inventory Management
Criteria: Knowledge and Experience

Essential

  • IT literate with SAP and Red Prairie WMS experience
  • Analytical approach to problem solving
  • 1-2 years’ experience of working in inventory environments role

  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Ability to question, positively challenge and improve upon existing processes.
  • High level of honesty and integrity.
