OUR HISTORY - HOW IT ALL BEGAN
In 1959, Dennis Ascott acquired George Clarke (Derby) Limited, and his wife Norma joined the company. After Ascott Motors and Ascott Garages went into liquidation, Dennis and Norma bought the old company seal and started using the trade name - Ascott Transport.
FROM THEN ON…
1964
A few articulated vehicles were brought starting off the ever-growing fleet.
1969
The company started its longest standing relationship with Pirelli, and we are still going strong.
Early 1990’s
Pete and Joey joined the family business. Both of them obtained their HGV licenses on their 21st birthdays.
Late 1990’s
We rented our first warehouse - in Wellington Street, Burton.
2001
With Dennis unfortunately passing away in 2000, the business carried on with Norma being Chairwoman. The family bought an aircraft hangar and together with the five acres of land at Foston, this formed a base for the growing logistics operation. The company also formally changed it’s name to Ascott Transport Limited.
2005
We doubled our freehold warehousing capability by building a modern extension to the ‘old’ hangar. Customer demands were leading us to provide more and more warehousing, so we were continually renting units to meet these demands.
