Timings Monday – Friday 08:00 am to 5.30 pm

Must be flexible with overtime as and when required to support operational requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

HR Responsibilities

1 Line Management responsibilities for the full employee lifecycle of staff including training and development.

2 Uphold corporate values. Responsible for providing a positive and encouraging atmosphere at all times to ensure all staff work to their best abilities.

3 Conduct weekly team meetings including the dissemination of company communications.

Health & Safety Responsibilities

4 Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

5 Manage the effective supervision of health, safety & welfare for the warehouse team.

Quality Responsibilities

6 Ensure all processes are rigidly adhered to at all times by all staff.

7 Advise process improvements to assist with continuous excellence.

8 To generate weekly management reports to present to the Logistics

Contract Manager.

Operational Responsibilities

9 Ensuring the warehouse delivers a high level of efficiency whilst undertaking operational and statutory quality requirements through effect resource planning.

10 Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of all physical transactions to maintain stock integrity through proficient use of data terminals.

11 Optimise the building use to achieve maximum stock density, without compromising operational efficiency, whilst maintaining safe working practices.

12 Ensure all activity is allocated and processed (and therefore recorded) using data terminals.

13 To be a direct point of contact for the customer to liaise about exceptional requirements if and when necessary above and beyond SLOTS bookings.

14 Responsible for operational KPI’s through effective management of shift KPI’s.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance.

Criteria: Qualifications and Training


  • Qualified to GCSE Level in English and Maths (or equivalent)


  • Qualification in Supervisory Management

  • Warehouse Management experience
  • Experience of maintaining KPIs and operational processes
  • Experience of managing teams within tight quality and efficiency parameters
  • Demonstrable Experience of people and performance management

  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Ability to make effective decisions

Delegations of Authority
  • Hiring of Supervisors for department in collaboration with Line Manager.
  • Hiring of Operatives for department in collaboration with appropriate supervisor(s).
  • Management of departmental ER in collaboration with the HR department
  • Authorise additional hours required from internal or external sources
  • Recommend training, through Line Manager, for staff members to total value of £150.00 per annum
  • Authorise the purchase of PPE for staff members to not exceed £75 per person per annum.
