Warehouse Operative/Picker – Derby

Job purpose

Work alongside a team of fellow warehouse personnel to provide a professional incoming goods, storage and dispatch service to customers, encompassing both speed and accuracy.

Must be flexible with overtime as and when required to support operational requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

1 Execute the plan for incoming goods, storage and despatch of items in a timely and efficient manner.

2 Responsibility for all aspects of health and safety for self and team members.

3 To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management.

4 Provide support for account managers with query resolution and inventory checks.

5 Conduct accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.

6 Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.

7 Ensuring quality procedures and individual quality targets are strictly adhered to.

8 Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

9 To ensure the safe loading/handling/unloading of all material.

10 Support, comply and ensure complicity by self and team with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

11 To aid in the quality control of orders before they are sent out for delivery and ensure all relevant loading manifests are adhered to.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance.

Criteria: Qualifications and Training

Essential

  • Counterbalance B1 accredited basic training certification

Desirable

  • Qualified to GCSE Level in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Reach Truck and HLOP accredited basic training certification

Desirable

  • Experience within a warehouse environment

  • Willingness to learn to operate site MHE to enable themselves and the company to grow
  • Able to demonstrate a high level of safe use of a counterbalance

Desirable

  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point.
  • Confident with the ability to deal with logistics professionals at all levels.
  • Proficient in the use of hand held RDT scanners
