Warehouse Operative (VNA) – Derby

We have 6 positions available – 2 for each shift.

Job purpose

Work alongside a team of fellow warehouse personnel to provide a professional incoming goods, storage and despatch service to customers, encompassing both speed and accuracy.

Special Conditions

40 Hour Working Week

Monday – Friday 0600 – 1400, 1400 – 2200 and 2200 – 0600 – Static Shift.

Owing to the work location must have access to a vehicle in order to attend work.

Must be flexible with overtime as and when required to support operational requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

1 Execute the plan for incoming goods, storage and despatch of items in a timely and efficient manner.

2 Responsibility for all aspects of health and safety for self and team members.

3 To ensure effective, safe, accurate and timely stock management.

4 Provide support for account managers with query resolution and inventory checks.

5 Conduct accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.

6 Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.

7 Ensuring quality procedures and individual quality targets are strictly adhered to.

8 Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

9 To ensure the safe loading/handling/unloading of all material.

10 Support, comply and ensure complicity by self and team with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance.

Criteria: Qualifications and Training


  • Current Fork Lift Truck Licence (VNA)


  • Qualified to GCSE Level in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Current Fork Lift Truck Licence (Counterbalance)
  • Current Fork Lift Truck Licence (Reach)
