Job purpose

Work alongside and lead a team of fellow warehouse personnel to provide a professional incoming goods, storage and despatch service to customers, encompassing both speed and accuracy.

Monday – Friday 08:00 am until 17:30 pm

Owing to the work location must have access to a vehicle in order to attend work.

Must be flexible with overtime as and when required to support operational requirements.

Main duties and responsibilities

HR Responsibilities

Uphold corporate values. Responsible for providing a positive and encouraging atmosphere at all times to ensure all staff work to their best abilities.

Working with all members of staff to maintain and develop a positive progressive culture within the business.

Manage all aspects to ensure effective supervision, training & development and health, safety & welfare of the wider team.

Health and Safety Responsibilities

Support, comply and ensure complicity with Health, Safety and Environmental regulations, the company handbook, Quality standards and all other company policies and procedures.

Responsible for the effective supervision of health, safety & welfare within your team area and team.

Quality Responsibilities

Ensure all processes are adhered to by all team members.

Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cyclical counting and strong stock control.

Responsibility for all aspects of stock integrity and area cleanliness.

Operational Responsibilities

Execute the plan for incoming goods, storage and despatch of items in a timely and efficient manner.

10 Provide support for account managers with query resolution and inventory checks.

11 Conduct accurate and periodic cycle counts and stock takes.

12 Be responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within the Warehouse is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer.

13 Ensuring great relations and communications with the wider team members and responding politely and in a timely fashion to internal and external customers.

14 Ensuring that customer complaints are resolved in the most efficient manner.

15 Ensuring quality procedures and individual quality targets are strictly adhered to.

16 Any other reasonable duties which may be required by management from time to time.

17 To ensure the safe loading/handling/unloading of all material.

You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all ATL policies and procedures at all times and take account of ATL guidance

Person Specification

Criteria: Qualifications and Training


  • Qualified to GCSE Level in English and Maths (or equivalent)
  • Current Fork Lift Truck Licence (Reach)


  • Current Fork Lift Truck Licence (Counterbalance)

Criteria: Knowledge and Experience


  • Experience within a warehouse environment

Criteria: Skills and Aptitudes


  • Proficient in the use of MS Excel, Word, Outlook and Power Point
  • Possess the ability to lead and motivate a team of people to succeed by utilising appropriate interpersonal styles including leading by example, setting objectives and defining responsibilities to give a clear sense of direction
  • Ability to sustain and develop team working and team based problem solving


  • Ability to make decisions
